The 14th edition of IPL is all set to resume in September-October after being suspended due to rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The 14th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to resume in September-October after being suspended due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to conduct the remaining matches of IPL 2021 in UAE.

The decision was taken at a Special General Meeting (SGM) held virtually, where all the members unanimously decided to shift the IPL 2021 to United Arab Emirates.

“BCCI announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates, considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year,” the Indian cricket board stated in its latest press release.

As soon as the news broke out, IPL franchises took to their social media handles to acknowledge BCCI’s decision.

Reacting to the latest announcement, Rajasthan Royals recently shared a hilarious video on their official Twitter account.

The Royals posted a snippet from the Bollywood film ‘Hey Baby’ and captioned it, “Wait, what?”

Apart from RR, the defending champions Mumbai Indians also took to their Twitter handle and shared a photo from last year’s IPL final which was held in Dubai.

“UAE, we are coming back,” MI wrote.

The 13th edition of IPL was also held in the UAE where the Rohit Sharma-led side defeated Delhi Capitals in the final showdown to clinch the record-extending fifth title.
