KKR skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss decided to bowl first expecting dew in the second half of the match. Rohit, who has the best record against KKR, started on a good note and he along with Quinton de Kock added 56 runs in the powerplay. The stand was 78 runs from 9.2 overs.
In the ninth over of the inning, Quinton de Kock decided to go after Andre Russell. He smashed the first ball to the boundary and went for another one. The ball was pitched up and the left-handed batsman played a cracking straight drive, which almost hit the skipper at the non-striker’s end.
However, Rohit ducked at the right time and the ball went for a four.
While Rohit scored 33, de Kock hit 55 runs from 42 balls. The defending champions managed to score 155 for 6 from the allotted 20 overs.
