Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer are training together ahead of India’s upcoming Sri Lanka tour. The 26-year-old batsman recently took to his official Instagram handle and shared a video in which he can be seen running with the young opener.
Captioning the video, Iyer wrote, “Good to see him pushing his limits @prithvishaw.”
After the session, Shaw also posted a selfie with Iyer on his Instagram story.
“Good running session with Shreyas Iyer,” Prithvi wrote in a caption.
Shaw and Iyer share a good camaraderie both on and off the field, having played together for Team India, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai.
While Prithvi performed exceptionally well in the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Shreyas was ruled out of the tournament, owing to a shoulder injury that he suffered during the limited-overs series against England at home.
Prior to the suspension of the 14th edition, the 21-year-old opener smashed 308 runs in 8 games at an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 166.48.
Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 in the United Arab Emirates later this year.
As far as India’s forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka is concerned, the Indian cricket board is yet to announce the squad for the limited-overs series against the Lankans.
