Peshawar Zalmi beat Lahore Qalanders in the first super over of this Pakistan Super League on Monday.

Thanks to captain Shaheen Shah Afridi blasting 23 off the last regular over, Lahore Qalandars finished at 158-8 to tie Peshawar’s effort of 158-7.

Peshawar captain Wahab Riaz conceded only five runs in a tidy super over and veteran Shoaib Malik won the game by smashing two successive boundaries off Afridi’s first two balls.

Lahore Qalandars and Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf slapped his teammate Kamran Ghulam after picking up a wicket. Ghulam had dropped a catch of Peshawar Zalmi’s Hazratullah Zazai on Rauf’s delivery. On the fifth delivery of the same over, Fawad Ahmed took a good catch to get rid of Mohammad Haris. As everyone celebrated the fall of a wicket, Ghulam went towards Haris to give him a high-five and that’s when the latter slapped him.

Ghulam then effected a brilliant run-out of Peshawar skipper Wahab Riaz in the 17th over. Haris Rauf hugged the fielder. It remains to be seen if any action will be taken against Rauf.
