Mohammed Shami can’t be kept away from wickets in the ICC World Cup 2023. After taking 9 wickets in his first two games against New Zealand and England, he started with a double-wicket maiden against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium. He added another one to his figures.
Shami foxed Charith Asalanka and Dushan Hemantha on two successive balls and was on a hat-trick again in the tournament, but the batters managed to block the ball.
Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah started the innings with a wicket on the first ball, while Mohammed Siraj added three scalps against his favourite opponents.
