Australian cricketer Gurinder Sandhu claimed a hat-trick for the Sydney Thunder in a Big Bash League game against Perth Scorchers on Thursday. Sandhu, who is of Indian descent being born in Punjab, dismissed captain Ashton Turner, Aaron Hardie and Laurie Evans to complete his hat-trick in the 16th over.
He has taken three hat-tricks so far. Representing Tasmania against Victoria in the 2018 JLT One-Day Cup, he picked up his first hat-trick. Sandhu returned with figures of 7/56.
The pacer took his second hat-trick in Marsh Cup in 2021. Gurinder achieved the landmark against the South Australia Redbacks, becoming the first male cricketer to take two hat-tricks in the domestic 50-over competition.
With his latest hat-trick, he is the first Australian to take two List-A hat-tricks Down Under. The 28-year old has represented Australia in two ODIs.
