Wasim Akram said that Gautam Gambhir has a right to give his opinion after the former opener called Pakistan captain Babar Azam selfish.

Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram said that Gautam Gambhir has a right to give his opinion after the former opener called Pakistan captain Babar Azam selfish.

Gautam had slammed Babar for not sending Fakhar Zaman up the batting order against the Netherlands.

“You should play for your team first instead of yourself. If nothing was going as per plan, Fakhar Zaman should have been promoted. It is easy to be selfish as a captain. If you want to be a leader, think about your team,” said Gambhir.

Akram, while speaking to Pakistan channel A Sports, said: “It is Gambhir’s opinion, and he has been a successful captain in IPL. Winning twice with KKR. He was one of the top batters during his time. He has every right to give his opinion,” said Akram.

Zaman scored 20 off 16 after Babar perished for 4 off 5 balls in Pakistan’s win over the Netherlands.
