Washington Sundar was supposed to represent India across formats but an unfortunate spell of injuries and his COVID-19 positive result kept him out of reckoning for a long time.
The all-rounder was finally including in the squad for the ODI series against West Indies. He made an instant impact and took three wickets in the first game at the Narendra Modi stadium. India defeated West Indies by 6 wickets.
Sundar spoke about Rohit’s suggestion after the match. “Rohit Sharma has always asked us to stick to the strength. Don’t carry away with too many things. And I am focusing on my stock balls and my strengths,” he said.
The 22-year old also reserved special praise for the former India captain Virat Kohli. “Virat Kohli is a Leader. And he has lots of experience and it’s great to have a player like him in the field.”
