The war of words has started between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ahead of their do-or-die game in Asia Cup 2022 on Thursday, 1 September.

Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon took a dig at Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka over his comments on the Bangladeshi bowling attack. He said that Bangladesh has two good bowlers, and now Sujon has hit back, saying his team has at least two.

Both teams lost to Afghanistan in their games of the ongoing tournament.

Talking about Shanaka’s statement, he said it is up to the Sri Lanka captain to express himself.

“Afghanistan is a better T20 squad than Sri Lanka. At least Bangladesh have two who are very good. Mustafiz and Shakib are the best, and Lanka don’t have world-class bowlers like Mustafiz and Shakib. Let’s see what happens on the match day,” he said.
