Former India player Virender Sehwag has named the highest run-scorer in the ICC T20 World Cup.

The Indian Premier League is a tournament where one bad season could prove fatal for your career, and one good one can make you a household name. The cash-studded league offers a lot to the players.

Indian legend Virender Sehwag has spoken about the best No.3 batter from the tournament.

The veteran was full of praise for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Rahul Tripathi, who had an excellent season with the bat. He scored over 400 runs in 14 matches and was instrumental in keeping his team’s playoff hopes alive till the last.

Sehwag admitted that he is an admirer of Tripathi and even voted him as the best No.3 batter of the season. “Rahul Tripathi batted well at No. 3. He scored over 400 runs this season and was the best No. 3 batter. Looking at all franchises in the recently concluded season, Rahul Tripathi achieved the most success while batting at the No.3 position. He won several games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, and he contributed to SRH five consecutive wins.”

The player has performed consistently over the years but was not retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for the 15th season. He was bought by SRH in this year’s mega auction.

He repaid the faith shown in him by producing his career-best season. He amassed 413 runs, including three half-centuries.

However, he was not considered for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. However, Sehwag feels that it’s not far from when Tripathi would be seen in national colors.
