Backing the decision of England's all-rounder, Virat stated it's important for the cricketers to take periodic breaks.

India captain Virat Kohli has stated that more players will take breaks like Ben Stokes. Backing the decision of England’s all-rounder, Virat stated it’s important for the cricketers to take periodic breaks.

Kohli’s comments came after the likes of Stokes, Simone Bies and Naomi Osaka left the field citing mental health issues.

Virat, who had lauded Glenn Maxwell for opening up about mental health, pointed out that living in a bio-bubble is not easy. Ben Stokes pulled out of the five-match Test series between India and England.

Kohli said that the break that Indian players had in July was a much-needed one. Indian players and support staff were given three weeks of a break after the conclusion of the World Test Championship.

“Periodic breaks are important for the players. I’m sure more players will take breaks like Ben Stokes has, just to cope with this tough bubble life. I think this break in the past month came at the right time for me,” said Virat Kohli.
