Aakash Chopra has praised Virat Kohli for punishing Sri Lanka for their ordinary bowling in the third ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, January 15.
Kohli scored an unbeaten 166 off just 110 balls as India set a 391-run target for the visitors. India then bowled out the Lankans for 73 to clinch a massive 317-run win.
“Virat Kohli bats at No.3. A hundred in the first and third contests. The run machine is back. Saamne wali bowling thi sadharan, to Kohli ne kiya Virat roop dhaaran,” he said on his YouTube channel.
Chopra added that Kohli is back at the top of his game.
“I was going through Twitter when I saw someone from Pakistan mention that Virat only scores in dead rubbers, so did someone score a century in the first match? It was said that it was a flat pitch. The rivals scored 73. Virat is back and is looking hungry for more runs. He owns a one-day format,” he added.
Kohli smashed 13 fours and eight sixes during his innings.
