Senior batter Virat Kohli is set to play his 100th Test when India take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series, starting March 4 in Mohali.

Virat Kohli’s six off Kagiso Rabada in the 41st over on Day 1 of the third Test between India and South Africa in Cape Town on Tuesday has an unwanted stat attached to it.

According to renowned statistician Mohandas Menon, this was only Virat’s fifth six in Tests since 2019. While Kohli hasn’t scored a hundred in last three years, there has been no shortage of half-centuries from the 33-year old.

In the same period, Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant, who have hit 31, 25 and 18 sixes, respectively.

“A rare six for Virat Kohli in Tests! Today his six at Cape Town is the only fifth in the last three years! During the same period Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant have hit 31, 25 & 18 sixes respectively,” Menon tweeted.
