The Board of Control for Cricket in India had urged the centrally contracted players to compete in atleast two matches but Kohli has decided to play the third contest to prepare for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
“Virat has confirmed his availability for three matches. He will play in the third game,” DDCA President Rohan jaitley told PTI. The right-handed batter has scored 131 and 77 in the first two matches.
