India skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday expressed his gratitude towards all the healthcare and frontline workers who have helped the countrymen amid the testing times of coronavirus pandemic.
The 32-year-old batsman recently took to his official Twitter handle and thanked all those people who came forward to help each other in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
“I have nothing but gratitude for all the healthcare & frontline workers, I am in awe of their spirit and dedication. I also want to thank all the people who came forward in such difficult times & helped each other. India is grateful to have heroes like you,” Virat tweeted.
As India is battling against the second wave of the deadly virus, several cricketers have come forward to support the COVID-19 victims in the difficult times.
Joining the hands in helping the needy people, Virat and his wife Anushka Sharma have also started a campaign ‘In This Together’ to raise funds for COVID-19 relief measures.
Virat and Anushka themselves made a generous contribution to the campaign by donating Rs 2 crore and urged everyone to support them in this noble cause.
Notably, the ‘In this Together’ campaign received over Rs 3.6 crore in less than 24 hours.
Overwhelmed with the great response, Anushka thanked everyone who pitched in with donations in this crucial situation.
“Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the half way mark, let’s keep going,” the renowned Bollywood actress wrote on Twitter.
