Virat Kohli is in stellar form in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup and is the leading run-scorer with 220 runs in four matches.
The 34-year-old India star has always shared a special connection with Australia and is never short of runs in this Oceania country. On his 34th birthday, the BCCI posted a video on Twitter where Kohli talked about his relationship with Australia and present Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.
Speaking about Australia, Kohli said that if you perform in Australia, you gain respect. People in the streets respect you. I love playing here, and it is like a home to me.”
“The place does not feel alien to me. It is not just my fans, but the locals also give me respect. It does not feel out of place to me.”
He then praised Rohit and talked about this camaraderie with Rohit.
“Our understanding and vision for the game are similar. We both want India to win every match. Our discussions and inputs are focused on the ulterior motive of winning the trophy.”
“We both also make sure that the rest of the group is relaxed and not loaded with pressure.”
