Virat Kohli has stepped down from Test captaincy following India’s series loss against South Africa. The visitors were thumped 1-2 after two successive defeats in Johannesburg and Cape Town. He is the most successful Indian Test captain having won 40 out of 68 matches.

He is also the fourth most successful leader in the history of Test cricket. Virat has a win percentage of 58.82 as a captain.

Steve Waugh (71.93), Don Bradman (62.50) and Ricky Ponting (62.34) are ahead of him.
