Todd Murphy vs Virat Kohli IND vs AUS Test series

Australia’s assistant coach Daniel Vettori has lauded Todd Murphy after bowling well in the ongoing Test series in India. The former Kiwi player observes that Murphy taking Virat Kohli’s wicket is the most important takeaway from the first three Test matches.

Murphy took 7 wickets in the only innings Australia bowled in Nagpur. The young bowler has dismissed Virat three times in five innings and is averaging 21.81 in the series.

“Steve Smith lauded him for his performances in the last Test. His spell allowed everyone to take wickets. Kohli had never been stumped before that Test in Delhi When Todd got him out,” he said.

Vettori added that the spinner smoothly transitioned from first-class to international cricket.

“For a young and inexperienced spinner to come here and handle a challenging situation is a hallmark of a great talent. He has been very impressive in India.”
