Amid all the controversy involving Virat Kohli, the team has started practising ahead of the first Test match at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The players started their preparations with a game of footvolley. Head coach Rahul Dravid was also involved with the players.
The official Twitter page of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video and wrote: “How did #TeamIndia recharge their batteries ahead of their first training session in Jo’Burg? On your marks, get set & Footvolley!”
While all the players had fun, the picture of Virat giving a high five to Dravid caught the eye of the fans.
While it is Draviod’s first overseas assignment with the national team in the full-time role, Kohli needs runs under his belt.
The tour will also start a new era (Kohli-Dravid) in Indian cricket. These two have played a lot of cricket together and share a close bond.
They were a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (IPL) in the first three IPL seasons. Virat and Dravid also shared the dressing room of the national team.
Let’s look at how fans reacted to Kohli and Dravid giving high-five:
