Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been helping common people during the ongoing crisis of Covid-19 in India. The couple has once again joined hands to help raise fund to save the life of a kid who is suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SPA), a rare genetic disorder. Ayaansh Gupta needed the world most expensive medicine – Zolgensma worth Rs 16 crore to recover from ailment.
Aayansh’s parents had created a Twitter account named ‘AyaanshFightsSMA’ for his treatment and saw celebrities like Virat and Anushka help them to buy the medicine. On Sunday, the parents took to twitter to inform that they have managed to raise the required amount.
“Never thought that this arduous journey we set on to #saveayaanshgupta would culminate this beautifully. Happy to announce tht we have reachd ₹16 Cr. needed to get #Zolgensma for #Ayaansh. A big thank you to every person who supported us. This is your victory,” they tweeted from the account.
The couple also thanked Virat and Anushka for their help. “@imVkohli & @AnushkaSharma – we always loved you as fans. But what you have done for Ayaansh and this campaign is beyond what we expected. Thanks for your generosity. You helped us win this match of life with a six! Will always be indebted for your help to #saveayaanshgupta,” read a tweet from the account.
Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao and others also came to the aid of Aayansh.
