Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was furious with teammate Rinku Singh after the two survived a major injury scare during the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 match against the Netherlands on February 19. During the last over of the run chase, Zach Lion-Cachet’s shot went high in the air, and Suryakumar gestured to Rinku that he was going for the catch, but he didn’t listen. Both players ended up colliding, and the ball spilled out of SKY’s hands.
The incident left the players worried, but Suryakumar recovered quickly and was seen arguing with Rinku.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar was happy after the rival skipper Scott Edwards won the toss and invited the Indian National Cricket Team to bat first. The co-host posted 193/6 and secured a 17-run win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
“We wanted to bat first as there was a bit of dew and it was challenging for our bowlers,” Suryakumar said after the match.
Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the third consecutive match, while Ishan Kishan managed just 18. Tilak Varma amassed 31 before Shivam Dube went after the bowlers. He scored 66 runs off 31 balls. Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh were also impressive with the bat.
“Shivam Dube was magnificent. We might lose early wickets in the upcoming matches and it is important for the batters to understand their responsibilities. We have firepower in the lower order. Even when you win a match, you learn a lot of things and we did today,” Suryakumar added.
