India defeated England by 7 wickets in the first warm-up game ahead of the T20 World Cup. Wasim Jaffer, who is ruling Twitter these days, mocked former England player Michael Vaughan after his country was not able to contain the Virat Kohli-led team.
The two have a habit of pulling each other’s leg on social media and this time it was the turn of a legendary player, who wrote an interesting tweet on the phenomenal performance of the Men in Blue. He named three things that stood out in India’s thumping victory.
Earlier, Virat Kohli won the toss and asked England to bat first. England scored 188 for 5 in 20 overs. Jonny Bairstow (49), Moeen Ali ( 43 not out) and Liam Livingstone (39) played handy knocks for their team. While Mohammed Shami took three wickets, Jasprit Bumrah and R Ashwin were economical.
Chasing 189, India never looked in trouble. KL Rahul (51) and Ishan Kishan ( 70 retired not out) went after the England bowlers. Rishabh Pant (29 not out) and Hardik Pandya (12 not out) finished the game in style.
