Although he has only been a regular member of India’s T20I squad for the past year, the 34-year-old has quickly made a mark with a series of standout performances, ultimately overtaking New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy to claim the No. 1 spot.

Chakravarthy has taken two wickets in two matches in the Asia Cup 2025. He impressed in India’s opening match against the UAE with figures of 1/4, and followed that up with a solid 1/24 from four overs in the win over Pakistan.

These performances helped Chakravarthy jump three places in the rankings, claiming the top spot for the first time, with Duffy dropping to second. Akeal Hosein of the West Indies remained third, while Australia’s Adam Zampa moved up to fourth.
