Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is 14 years old, has reacted to becoming the most searched Indian on Google in 2025. He continues to score runs, amassing 171 runs off 95 balls, breaking the record for the highest score by an Indian in the U19 Asia Cup. He recorded the landmark during India’s Group A opening match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai.
Vaibhav was reminded that he was the most searched Indian in 2025, even going past Virat Kohli.
“According to Google, you are the most searched person in India overall last year, even ahead of Virat Kohli. You are in sixth place among the most searched personalities worldwide. Our job is to cover you and highlight your performances. It is your job to remain focused. How do you stay grounded despite being so popular?” the broadcaster asked.
The southpaw said that these things give him happiness, but his focus is still on improving the game.
“I don’t pay attention to these things. My focus is always on the game. I do hear what is being said about me and my performances, and it actually feels good. I feel happy and then move forward. That is all,” he said.
His knock is the second-highest score by an Indian batter in youth ODIs, with Ambati Rayudu’s unbeaten 177 against England in 2002 leading the race. Overall, it is the ninth-highest score by a batter in the men’s U19 one-day internationals.
Suryavanshi’s innings was laced with 14 sixes and 9 boundaries.
