Usman Khawaja, who is in Pakistan to play in a three-match Test series, has spoken on comparing the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League.

He disagrees with former England skipper Michael Vaughan, who had labeled PSL as the best T20 tournament globally.

“The Pakistan Super league has it spot on … High-quality players … Fewer games than other tournaments making it a few weeks shorter … It leaves you wanting a little bit more at the end … Other tournaments don’t,” he wrote on Twitter.

However, Khawaja feels the Indian Premier League is the best T20 competition globally, and there is no point in comparing it with the premier T20 event of Pakistan.

“IPL is the strongest and the best league in the world. That’s hands down. There’s no contest between IPL and the PSL.

“IPL have whole world comes to them and it’s the only league which have participation of Indian players which makes IPL the best league in the world”.

Australia are playing in Pakistan after 24 years. After the Test series, the action will shift to three ODIs and a lone T20I.

Khawaja scored twin hundreds in the fourth Ashes Test against England. He has been a firm advocate of the resuming of cricket relations between India and Pakistan.

According to him, the two countries can play bilateral matches in Australia.
