India Under-19 defeated host nation Zimbabwe by 204 runs in their first match of the Super Sixes at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo on Tuesday, with vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra scoring an unbeaten hundred. Ayush Mhatre’s team has given consistent performances after being challenged by Bangladesh. The Boys in Blue dominated the three departments of the game, leaving no chance for Zimbabwe.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored an explosive 24-ball fifty and set the momentum for a big total. Tatenda Chimugoro picked up key wickets to put India on the back foot in the middle phase.
Vihaan Malhotra was in the middle in the 11th over with 101/3 on the board. He added 113 runs with Abhigyan Kundu, who supported his batting partner. Malhotra rotated the strike and hit loose deliveries for boundaries.

The total put Zimbabwe out of the match even before the start of the chase.
Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Kian Blignaut and Leeroy Chiwaula tried their best and added 69 runs for the fourth wicket, but even they failed to stop the slide. Chiwaula amassed 62 while Chimugoro made a contribution of 29.
Skipper Ayush and Udhav Mohan took three wickets each. R.S. Ambrish got rid of two batters as Zimbabwe were dismissed for 148 in the 38th over.
India will face Pakistan in their second match of the second round on February 1.
