Gautam Gambhir feels the young pacer can perform well with experience.

Many young bowlers were among the wickets in the recently concluded edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Mohsin Khan, and many others earned plaudits for their bowling in the 15th season of the tournament.

Avesh Khan, who was with Lucknow Super Kings, has been impressive in IPL and is currently playing for India in the five-match T20I series against South Africa.

He went wicketless in the series opener, conceding 35 runs in his four overs. But Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir feels the young pacer can perform well with experience. The former India player wants Avesh to play for his spot in the ICC T20 World Cup.

“This bowler has a lot of talent; he has pace, a big heart to bowl the difficult overs. But I will want to see him in the upcoming games. He is a young bowler, and should look beyond IPL as the ICC T20 World Cup is coming,” Gambhir said on Star Sports.

“He has the attitude of a fast bowler, and the most important thing he wants to learn. If he works hard, he can become a good bowler, not only in T20s but in all three formats,” he added.
