Shreyas Iyer will be leading Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2022. The 27-year old was bought by the two-time champions for INR 12.25 crore.

In his recent interview with the franchise, the right-handed batter opened up on his immediate goals and captaincy style.

“I’m player’s captain and I want to create an atmosphere where our goal will be to win the IPL,” said Shreyas Iyer.

He further spoke about the change in his captaincy approach.

“I would be having different mindset coming into KKR. I’m more mature and experienced (as a leader coming to a different franchise).”

The former Delhi Capitals player opined on working with head coach Brendon McCullum. “Brendon McCullum as a coach is very aggressive. Even when you saw him playing for his country, he was someone who was very aggressive and he’s kind of a risk taker and I love that.”

Meanwhile, Iyer was in blistering form against Sri Lanka in the last T20I series. He remained unbeaten in three games and amassed more than 200 runs. Shreyas was named the Man of the Match in two matches while he got the Player of the Series award as well.
