Kirti Azad, who was a part of the 1983 World Cup squad that led India to win in the final against West Indies, has questioned the way Virat Kohli was removed from ODI captaincy. According to him, there is nothing wrong in removing a captain but there is a proper way to do it.

He was reacting to Virat Kohli’s press conference where he refuted Sourav Ganguly’s claims that he was asked to continue as T20I skipper.

Kirti Azad feels the chief selector, Chetan Sharma, should have held a press conference to clarify on Kohli’s removal. Azad further added that this has been the norm before the current selection committee came on the board.

Virat Kohli deserves respect as he has done so much for the country, claimed Azad.
