Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi has spoken about the farewell of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who retired from Test cricket before the tour of England. In 67 Tests, Rohit scored 4,301 runs, including 12 hundreds and 18 fifties.
On the other hand, Kohli amassed 9,230 runs in 123 Tests, laced with 30 centuries and 31 fifties.
“Their retirement is shocking, as you want to see them retiring on the field. You want big legends to leave while being on the field, and that looks better. And what both of us did for India, there is no one even close,” Ravi Bishnoi said.
“You want them to get a farewell, but maybe they will get in ODIs whenever they decide to leave. No one can tell you when you will retire. It was shocking when they announced their decisions. The two spots have become empty, but who will fulfil that?” he added.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to play in the three-match ODI series against Australia in October. Rohit recently visited Bengaluru for a fitness test and cleared it with good numbers. However, there is no information available on Virat Kohli’s arrival as he is currently residing in London with his family.
