Aakash Chopra has pointed out that Cricket Australia makes a lot of money from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and that’s why one more Test has been added to a four-match contest.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the FTP for the 2023-2027 cycle. As per the schedule, Team India will visit Australia for a five-match Test series in 2024-25.
“The Border Gavaskar Trophy will have five Test matches from now onwards. The truth is that Australia make a lot of money when India play there, and that money is important for Australian cricket.”
Chopra highlighted that mushrooming T20 leagues have not impacted international cricket.
“We all felt it would impact international cricket with so many T20 leagues. However, the matches have been increased by the ICC.”
