Suryakumar Yadav has been India’s best batter in the shortest format of the game. He is the No.1 ranked batter in the world and was the third leading run-scorer in the ICC T20 World Cup.
The 32-year-old hit three half-centuries and was named the Man of the Match on two occasions.
New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips feels he couldn’t even dream of emulating some of the incredible shots the Indian batter plays.
“He is incredible and talented. The things that he does I wouldn’t even dream of doing. I would love to try but our styles are different. The way he hits sixes in awkward areas is one of the most difficult things to do but he makes it look easy” Phillips was quoted as saying in stuff.co.nz.
The Kiwi batter said their gameplay gives opportunities to the rivals to get them out early as well.
“I have my strengths and he has his own and we perform our jobs in a different ways. We both give opportunities to the rival bowlers to dismiss us as well. It is part and parcel of T20 cricket,” he added.
Phillips further predicted that the strike-rate of the Indian batters might go up in New Zealand, given the smaller grounds.
