It’s been over a year since Virat Kohli left Test captaincy after the series defeat in South Africa. Bollywood actor Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor still remembers the days of Kohli’s captaincy when India played aggressive and ruthless cricket.
With India having a nightmarish day 1 of the WTC Final against Australia at the Oval, the actor also lashed out at Rohit Sharma for his captaincy. The sub-continent team took just three wickets after winning the toss.
The Rohit & Co failed to put pressure on the rivals, with Travis Head scoring 146 not out, while Steve Smith managing 95.
Harsh, the son of Anil Kapoor, was frustrated to see India struggling badly. He also questioned the omission of Ravichandran Ashwin from the playing XI.
“Terrible tragedy that @imVkohli isn’t test captain anymore there is no intensity / hunger without him at the helm the players are passive and just going through the motions under Rohit .. poor team selection also Ashwin had to play + Bumrah out through injury is a huge blow,” he wrote.
