According to Aakash Chopra, West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith will start a bidding war at the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction. The former opener said that Smith is likely to get INR 4-5 crore after performing in the 2nd ODI against India at the Narendra Modi stadium.

Smith, who has a base price of INR 1 crore, is one of the 34 West Indies players who will go under the hammer. Smith dismissed Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant and conceded just 29 runs in 7 overs. He hit a quickfire 24 in the West Indies’s unsuccessful chase of 238. The all-rounder has been a part of 4 ODIs and 7 T20Is for the West Indies. Smith was the second-highest wicket-keeper in the Caribbean Premier League, picking up 18 wickets in 11 matches last year.

“Odean Smith will get 4-5 crore, and all teams will run after him. He can bowl and hit big shots,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
