Karun Nair, who was dropped from the Test team after the England series, scored 233 runs for Karnataka on Day 2 of their Ranji Trophy match against Kerala.
On the first day, Karnatak lost 2 wickets for 13 runs. Nair added 124 runs with Krishnan Shrijith, who amassed 65 runs. The discarded batter stitched an unbeaten 297 runs with Ravichandran Smaran (139 not out). Nair hit 21 boundaries and two sixes. Smaran went on to score an unbeaten 220 runs, with the help of 16 fours and 3 sixes.
According to Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, the decision-makers were expected more from the better during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. After not being considered for the West Indies series, he failed to make the India A squad for the two-match red-ball series against South Africa A.

The middle-order was disappointed after being ignored by the selectors. “I deserved a lot better. People might have their opinions. Scoring runs is my job, and I don’t want to impact my mindset. I will focus on winning the games for my teams,” he said.
