Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj
Although Virat Kohli bagged the Player of the Series award, Siraj was lauded by leading cricket experts.

Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has hit out at Team India’s bowling following the Men in Blue’s consecutive series defeat in Bangladesh.

He labelled India’s bowling as third class after they allowed the Litton Das-led team to recover from 69/6 to post 271/7 in the second ODI.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100* off 83) and Mahmudullah (77 off 96) added 148 for the seventh wicket to take their team to a winning total.

The hosts won the game by 5 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

“It might sound harsh, but India’s bowling was third class. Where is India cricket going? Bangladesh and Indian conditions are similar. They are bowling friendly wickets but the visiting bowlers are getting exposed. Are India missing Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar? India need a good bowling unit,” he said.

Kaneria added that Indian bowlers were clueless against Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah.

“Nobody bowled Yorkers. They should have bowled out Bangladesh for 100-120 after having them at 69/6,” he added.

“The wicket gets tougher in the second innings and Bangladesh how to defend with even 180 on the board.”
