Ajaz Patel got a special gift from the Indian team and was also felicitated by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for taking 14 wickets in the second and final Test. The hosts won by 324 runs.
He became the third bowler in Test history after Jim Lakers and Anil Kumble to pick 10 wickets in an innings of a Test match.
Ajaz was given a standing ovation from the Indian team and the fans when he took all the wickets. The home team gave him a signed jersey, which R Ashwin handed over to him.
Patel was also felicitated for becoming the first bowler to take 14 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. The official score sheet of the Test was framed and handed over to the Kiwi spinner, who gave the signed ball and his Test jersey for the MCA museum as a return gift.
