Suryakumar Yadav registered a two-ball duck on his return to action after months. After missing the first three games for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, he returned to the playing XI for the match against Delhi Capitals.
However, his stay at the crease was short-lived, as Anrich Nortje forced him to go for a big shot, but he couldn’t time it and J Fraser-McGurk caught him.
SKY injured his ankle in South Africa and failed to recover. He underwent surgery to fix the issue. He was then struck with a sports hernia and then again went under the knife for the second time. The recovery took a long time.
He failed the fitness tests at NCA before the 17th season of the tournament and was not given a fitness certificate by the medical staff.
Yadav was told to continue his rehabilitation in Bengaluru. After another recovery period, he was declared fit ahead of the game against DC on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.
