Suryakumar Yadav has stamped his authority on the shortest format of the game. He hit the first T20I hundred of 2023 in the third game against Sri Lanka. The 32-year-old has smashed three hundreds in a span of short time.

He hit 9 sixes and 7 fours in his 112-run knock on Saturday in Rajkot. Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid was known for his different approach to batting.

Dravid joked that it seems Suryakumar had never seen him bat and he is glad about it.

“It is good to have someone who hasn’t watched me bat. I am sure you didn’t,” said Dravid in a video posted by BCCI.tv before both him and Suryakumar started laughing.

“I did,” said the 32-year-old batter.

“Surya was exceptional. I haven’t seen a better knock. Of all the innings that you have played and I had the privilege of watching, can you pick one or two that is the best?” Dravid asked.

“I enjoy batting on all surfaces. I can’t pick one. I am doing the same stuff again. I just try to enjoy when I am batting. When other teams try to take the game away from us, I try to attack them. If that works for me and the team, I am happy,” he said.
