He became the fastest in the world to score 3,000 runs in T20Is. The right-handed batter is the third Indian to reach the mark. He achieved the landmark in just 1822, going past the UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem, who took 1947 balls to complete 3,000 runs in T20Is.

Former Australia captains Aaron Finch and David Warner are also part of the list, taking 2077 and 2113 deliveries, respectively. Indian star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli reached the milestone in 2149 and 2169 balls, respectively.

Before this contest, Suryakumar had managed 2,967 runs in 103 T20Is at an average of 36.62 and a strike rate of 164.74, with the help of four hundreds and 23 half-centuries, and the highest score of 117.

Yadav is behind Rohit (4,231 runs in 159 T20Is at an average of 32.05, strike rate of 140.89, laced with five hundreds and 32 half-centuries) and Virat Kohli (4,188 runs in 125 games at an average of 48.69, strike rate of 137.04, with a century and half-century) on the list of India’s all-time scorers.
