Suresh Raina, the middle-order batsman of Chennai Super Kings, on Sunday became the seventh player to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-handed batsman is the fourth Indian batter to achieve this record.
Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the first three to do so. He reached the landmark in the match between CSK and RCB at the famous Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
He was one six away from the record and his big hit off Yuzvendra Chahal led him to 200 sixes in the cash rich league.
Raina scored 24 off 18 before his wicket was taken by Harshal Patel. Chris Gayle has hit 354 sixes in IPL and is followed by AB de Villiers (240), Rohit Sharma (222), Dhoni (217), Kohli (204), Kieron Pollard (202).
