World No. 1 batter Suryakumar Yadav achieved his career-best rating in ICC Rankings for batters in T20Is and extended his lead over No.2 Mohammad Rizwan. He consolidated his position after scoring a hundred in the second T20I in New Zealand.
SKY has 895 and a lead of 54 points over Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter. The 32-year-old scored 124 runs in 2 matches in New Zealand and became the second Indian batter after captain Rohit Sharma to hit two T20I hundreds in a calendar year.
Surya was sublime in the ICC T20 World Cup, where he accumulated 239 runs and finished as the third-highest-run-getter. In 31 matches, he amassed 1164 in 2022, becoming the first Indian player to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in the shortest format.
