According to Star Sports, the decibel level of ‘Dhoni Dhoni’ chants was injurious to health. The decibel level at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai was 120. Notably, the noise generated by an aircraft carrier is 100 decibels.
Health experts say a whisper is about 30 decibels, while regular conversation is about 60 decibels. A bike engine makes a noise of 95 decibels. Any noise level above 70 decibels could cause hearing issues.
A noise above 120 decibels could damage hearing in a short period.
The decibel level touched 117 during Chennai Super Kings’ matches against Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in Lucknow and Delhi, respectively.
“Wherever MS Dhoni traveled, he received support. The current generation has seen Dhoni taking India and CSK to greater heights,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
