South Africa are not sure how they will counter England’s newly aggressive approach to playing Test cricket, with head coach Mark Boucher saying that they will wait and watch when the opening Test starts at Lord’s on Wednesday.
England are undefeated in their last four Test matches under new captain Ben Stokes with their new approach nicknamed “Bazball”, which helped them chase down impossible-looking targets against New Zealand and India.
“I don’t know. I’ll tell you on the day,” he said. “We will have to adapt to the conditions pretty quickly and try to stop England’s momentum and maybe change it.”
He further said that smart cricket would decide the series. “We will play a nice brand of cricket to come out on top against England. The bottom line is this game is between bat and ball, and we have to make smart decisions at a certain point during the match and focus on our goals.”
