Former India captain and the current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Friday took to his official Twitter handle and announced to give 50 oxygen concentrators across West Bengal with the help of Xiaomi India.
As India continues to battle the second wave of a novel coronavirus, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’ came forward to lend a helping hand to the needy people of Bengal amid these testing times.
“They say strength comes from struggle & I definitely believe we will all rise #StrongerTogether after this is over. With @XiaomiIndia, we donated 50 #oxygen concentrators across Bengal,” the 48-year-old tweeted.
Ganguly also expressed his gratitude towards Mi India for their support in these hard times.
“Thanks, MI India for your support to the people of Bengal. Kudos @manukumarjain @PrateikDas.”
Sourav Ganguly is currently in Dubai to figure out the preparations for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The Indian cricket board had to suspend the 14th edition of IPL after several players and supporting staff members were tested positive for COVID-19 during the tournament.
However, the marquee tournament is set to be resumed in September-October as the BCCI has confirmed that the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 will take place in UAE.
The Board also stated that the decision to shift IPL 2021 to the United Arab Emirates was taken after considering the monsoon season in India.
