The veteran spinner has again blamed MS Dhoni and some Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials for keeping him out of the squad.

Harbhajan Singh has bid adieu to cricket after 23 years of service. The 41-year old took a call after he was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2022. He is ready to join a franchise as a mentor.

According to Bhajji, he was thinking of taking retirement much earlier, but decided to honour the contract with Kolkata based franchise.

He also spoke about Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni, the two captain who were instrumental in his career.

While Bhajji was a part of two World Cup wins under MSD, it was Ganguly who backed him during initial phase of his career.

Lauding the current BCCI President, the off-spinner said – “If Sourav Ganguly hadn’t fought for me and got me in the team, today I might not be here. Sourav is the leader who made me what I am. MS Dhoni certainly was a very good captain and he carried the legacy of Sourav,” he told PTI.
