Sourav Ganguly on Rohit Sharma: India failed miserably at the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. The Men in Blue-led by Virat Kohli were defeated by Pakistan and New Zealand in two consecutive matches, which played a part in their ouster from Super 12 stage.
Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President, has given his opinion on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and India’s failure under Virat. Kohli had declared that he would leave the T20I captaincy after the global event. Sharma got the armband and won the first series 3-0 against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Ganguly is confident of seeing better results under the new leader.
“Once Virat Kohli decided he doesn’t want to be part of the T20 Leadership, he (Rohit Sharma) was the best choice. He started well, beating New Zealand by 3-0 in India. Hopefully we will see a better result for India next year than what we saw this year,” he told Boria Majumdar.
