Shubman Gill is the one of the promising young cricketers in India. He has represented India in ODIs and Test cricket. The right-handed batter has said that given a choice he would like to play for Kolkata Knight Riders till his last day in cricket.
Shubman was recently ruled out of the South Africa Test series due to his shin injury. Gill was not retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2022.
Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakaravarthy were the only players who were not released ahead of mega auction.
“The kind of bond I have with the KKR franchise is something really special to me,” Gill said in a short-film titled ‘Love, Faith and Beyond’.
“Once you’re associated with a franchise you would want to carry on and play with them forever… And if I would be able to play in purple and gold, I would play forever,” he added.
He has so far played 58 matches for the Kolkata based franchise, scoring 1417 runs at a strike rate of 123.00.
