Shubman Gill completed his hundred off 49 balls and dominated a second-wicket stand of 138 runs with Sai Sudharsan (43). Gill took his run tally to an IPL-leading 851 runs before he holed out at deep midwicket to David in the 17th over. He hit 10 sixes and 7 fours in his knock at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

GT captain Hardik Pandya complemented him for winning the game.

“He is going to be the biggest superstar in world cricket,” he said.

Mumbai’s chase was hindered quickly when Mohammed Shami (2-41) dimissed impact player Nehal Wadhera and captain Rohit Sharma in his first two overs.
