Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has slammed Shaheen Shah Afridi for his celebration style.

Pakistan’s defeat in the three-match ODI series against a second-string England side has not gone down well with fans and former cricketers. Despite playing with all the star players, Pakistan have been undone by the rivals. The batting collapse is the main reason behind Pakistan’s consecutive defeats. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has slammed Shaheen Shah Afridi for his celebration style.

The young pacer has failed to get going and has taken just two wickets in two games. Shoaib has stated that Shaheen should concentrate on his bowling rather than his celebration style. Afridi gives kisses after taking a wicket and the style has become synonymous with the 21-year old player.

“Shaheen Afridi likes blowing flying kisses more than taking wickets. At least take five wickets or run through a batting lineup before these hugs and flying kisses. What’s the point of doing it after just one wicket,” said Akhtar to Cricket Pakistan.

He also blamed the management for failing to get the best out of the players. “Don’t give excuses like the team wasn’t gelled in. They [England] assembled a team two and half days before the match and they were able to gel in but you weren’t despite being together for 30 days. You lost to England’s academy team,” he said.
